Prophylactic medications, even deworming and external parasite treatment, are not recommended without strict veterinary direction. There is considerable legislation surrounding the medicating of poultry, which is in place to minimise negative impacts on human health. Before providing your backyard flock with any medications, regardless of whether they are commercially available products or privately sourced remedies, please seek advice from a qualified Avian Veterinarian.
